The premiere of leading Russian contemporary dance choreographers Anna Abalikhina and Ivan Estegneev, in which they participate as authors and performers, will be held in Gogol Center on February 27-28, 2019. Performance is based on the modern choreography woven into a reinterpreted plot of the famous "Sleeping Beauty". An original musical composition was created for the performance, including deconstruction of Tchaikovsky's ballet by composer Alexei Nadzharov. The performance was created as part of the project Residence at the STATION and the “Diversion” Festival with the support of the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation. With the assistance of the Gogol Center.
We all live in the cultural code which came from books that our mothers read to us in childhood - these are fairy tales about magical adventures, about princesses and princes. But these attitudes no longer correspond to real life, modern men and women sometimes find themselves in imbalance and disharmony, looking for something that cannot exist. It happens in anticipation of this awakening of body and emotions, which must necessarily occur on their terms, the whole life passes as dreams.
